They’re an interesting twist on the wave survival genre. Highly recommend the Let’s Build A … maps. Having a customized map design lets you quickly find safety points, fellow players, and identify zombie locations so you don't, well, die. is way easier to navigate, just look them up on the workshop after finding one you like. Unless, of course, it's a map that you're using to navigate around Left 4 Dead. The l4d2 workshop is honestly a dumpster fire when it comes to actually finding campaigns because it had 0 moderation and so people tagged items with every possible tag. If you’re coming back to l4d2 i would really recommend checking out some custom campaigns like Dead Before Dawn. Which is okay but I’ve never been a fan of their survival mode. The new survival maps as far as I can tell are additions to the original l4d1 maps that didn’t originally have as many.

Used to place objects in your level that are not simple geometry. The Texture bar allows you to see the currently selected texture and to browse for other textures by going into the Browse. Solids - You will select individual components even if it has been joined with others to make one object.Objects - You will select an entire object even if it consists of more than 1 component.Groups - You will select the whole sets of objects that have been grouped together. The Selection Mode bar switches between modes of selecting objects in the map: The Tools bar switches the editor to different modes that allow you to select, build, place, texture, and manipulate different objects in your level. You will learn how to use these items throughout this tutorial, so don't worry about learning about how they all function quite yet. Here is a basic description of the Hammer interface.
